History of Raisen Fort, Who built the Raisen Fort?

Raisen Fort. The origins of the fort go back to 1200 AD. Up to the 15th century, it was believed that the fort built in the time of rulers of various Hindu lines, including the Rajputs. In 1543 Sher Shah Suri captured it from Puranmal.
the Raisen fort in Madhya Pradesh, which is believed to have been built in the 11th century, has a glorious past. According to legend, the fort was attacked on 14 different occasions by different rulers. However, none of them were able to destroy the fort.
The fort, which is at a distance of 45 km kilometer from state capital Bhopal, is built atop a 1500-meter tall hill and is spread across a 10 square kilometer area.
 Raisen Fort is one of the important tourist attractions of Raisen, Madhya Pradesh. The town of Raisen became famous because of the fort on the hilltop of the town. Which is Made up of sandstone, the Raisen Fort stands as a testimonial to the amazing ancient architecture and quality of the world that still stands tall even after so many centuries. The huge stone walls of the fort open to nine gateways and are surmounted by thirteen bastions. Surprising though, Raisen fort had well-maintained water management and conservation system with more than 40 wells. In the surrounding area too, there are many ancient caves and wall paintings that speak about the ancient history and culture of the country. 

HOW TO REACH RAISEN FORT?

Raisen was situated 40 km away from Bhopal and is known for the Raisen fort and the Dargah of Raisen. Raisen Fort is located on the top of a hill with a few temples, palaces, a large water reservoir and numerous wells inside Raisen fort.
